Backlit signage, often called halo-lit or reverse-lit, mounts solid letters a short distance from the wall with LED lighting hidden behind them. The face of each letter stays dark and clean while light spills around the edges, giving a refined, premium glow that works day and night.

What is the difference between backlit and front-lit letters?
Backlit letters glow around their edges and cast a halo on the wall behind. Front-lit letters have lit faces that shine directly towards viewers. Many brands choose backlit for a subtle, upmarket feel and front-lit for maximum visibility.
Can backlit signs be used outside?
Yes. Outdoor builds use sealed LED modules and corrosion-resistant fixings. Tell us the wall type and weather exposure so we can specify the right construction.
How far from the wall do the letters sit?
The gap is usually a few centimetres. A wider gap gives a larger, softer halo; a tighter gap gives a crisper glow. We will show you the effect in the mockup.
Does the wall colour matter?
Yes. Light-coloured or reflective walls show the halo most clearly, while very dark walls give a subtler glow. We can advise based on a photo of your wall.
